Today in Hip Hop News, we report on the ongoing online feud as groundbreaking evidence surfaces amid the ongoing trial of American rapper Megan Thee Stallion and R & B singer/rapper Tory Lanez, with a new addition: DJ Akademiks.
This week, there has been a lot of disinformation circulating concerning the shooting of Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion. DJ Akademiks came under fire earlier this week for spreading a fake rumor claiming that no DNA from Tory was discovered on the pistol used to shoot Megan.
Megan, as well as reporters from the New York Post and Rolling Stone, replied to Akademiks by claiming that DNA was not even mentioned during the hearing.
To clarify, the Los Angeles District Attorney's office issued a comment to our close sources addressing the matter, stating that they feel there is substantial evidence to back Lanez's charges.
According to the D.A’s office, “Although we are legally prohibited from commenting on the evidence and will continue to abide by that obligation, our office is under an ethical duty to only proceed on charges which we believe can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt and which have already been upheld by a judge after presentation of evidence at the preliminary hearing,” the statement read. “We believe the evidence substantially supports the charges and allegations and that evidence will be borne out in court.”
Earlier last week, Megan released text messages from Tory Lanez apologizing for what he did after the tragedy. Lanez, on the other hand, maintains his innocence and claims he was apologizing for sleeping with Megan's best friend, Kelsey.
