Henry Ruggs Released By Las Vegas Raiders Following Fatal DUI Accident!

The Las Vegas Raiders released wide receiver Henry Ruggs III on Tuesday night following his involvement in a vehicle crash earlier in the morning that left a woman and her dogg dead.


Henry Ruggs, age 22, faces multiple felonies involving the death of a 23 year-old woman.


Henry Ruggs was driving under the influence of alcohol and rear ended the young woman at 3:39 a.m on Tuesday morning.


The woman, driving a Toyota, was headed Northbound on Rainbow Boulevard. Ruggs, driving a Corvette, had been going in the same direction and attempted to merge lanes, as he did this he hit the rear of the Toyota, which then caught on fire.


The woman was trapped inside of the car, and when first responders arrived at the scene they immediately put out the fire. They rushed to get the woman out of the car, however she was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.




Ruggs had stayed at the scene until responders arrived. Since Ruggs remained on the scene, it’s said he showed signs of impairment. As far as Ruggs injuries, they were non life-threatening, however he was taken into University Medical Center in Las Vegas.


Rudy Washington, Ruggs girlfriend, was also involved in the accident. Washington was in the passenger seat and sustained serious injuries.




Ruggs has been charged with DUI with serious bodily harm and reckless driving with death or serious bodily harm. Ruggs is currently staying in Clark County Jail, in Las Vegas.


From many news sources, Ruggs could potentially be in jail for up to 20 years.


Ruggs reckless driving charge has a bail that is currently set at 5,000.


The Raiders had something to say considering how Ruggs is a player on the team. They said the following:


"The Raiders are aware of an accident involving Henry Ruggs III that occurred this morning in Las Vegas. We are devastated by the loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the victim's family. We are in the process of gathering information and will have no further comment at this time."
