Today in Hip Hop News, Former New York Knicks guard Iman Shumpert was detained over the weekend after cops allegedly discovered a "sizable" amount of marijuana in his backpack at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.
According to TMZ Sports, Shumpert was detained at a TSA checkpoint about 2:40 p.m. on Saturday by officials reacting to a probable narcotics violation complaint.
Further investigation revealed that Shumpert's bag contained 6.12 ounces of a "green leafy substance," which the 32-year-old Shumpert confirmed was marijuana. Later testing verified the presence of the drug.
Shumpert was thereafter handcuffed and transferred without incident to the airport prison. If convicted of "state jail felony," he could face up to two years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
