Today in Hip Hop News, we reveal shocking info, or rather the recent arrest of 23 year old Isaiah Lee, who was initially only facing a felony assault charge after attacking comedian Dave Chappelle during his set at The Hollywood Bowl.
Isaiah Lee, the 23-year-old guy who attacked Dave Chappelle during his show at The Hollywood Bowl on May 6, appears to have a history of violence. According to our sources, Lee is presently charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing an ex-roommate.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Lee stabbed the guy in December 2021, but the event was not made public until the Chappelle incident.
According to D.A. George Gascón, “The publicity generated by the attack on Mr. Chappelle helped police solve this crime.”
Isaiah Lee allegedly attacked his roommate in a transitional housing unit, but the victim, who had already reported the crime to police, was unable to identify Lee until he saw him on the news.
Lee was first charged with felony assault for assaulting Chappelle, but was later charged with four misdemeanors. However, it appears that he will be charged with a crime after all. Lee appeared in court on Thursday, May 19, and pleaded not guilty.
Lee was taken to the hospital after the Chappelle incident. He received a nasty beating shortly after ambushing the comedian onstage. Lee is beaten and battered in the aftermath photographs, with a swollen eye and broken arm.
Lee's bond is presently set at $1,000,000 for the attempted murder allegation and $30,000 for the Chappelle attack, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department website. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday (May 20).
