Today in Hip Hop News, we report to our readers exciting news! Not only is Jacquees making a two year comeback with a forthcoming project dropping soon, Future is stepping back into the executive producing field and will be producing Jacquees’ new album.
On Friday (May 20), fellow ATL native Jacquees spoke on FOX 5's Good Day Atlanta, when he announced Future will be handling his album's production.
This will be Future Hendrix's second time serving as an executive producer, following Kanye West's Donda 2.
Jacquees explained to the news crew, "My new album drops summer of 2022, and it’s executive produced by Future. It feels like a new beginning, and everything feels fresh, it feels new.”
Jacquees' next album will be released two years after his previous album, King of R&B, which debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard 200 list.
When he performs at the Essence Festival in July, the R&B star will also bring the new album to the festival stage.
Future's role as an executive producer on an album is only the beginning.
Thanks to his new album I NEVER LIKED YOU and the smash single "WAIT FOR U," featuring Drake and Nigerian singer Tems, the Freebandz leader became the second rapper — and fifth artist overall — in history to simultaneously debut atop the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100.
Drizzy was the first MC to accomplish the feat with Certified Lover Boy and his Future and Young Thug-assisted "Way 2 Sexy" last September.
