Alberto “Alpo” Martinez, a drug kingpin & feared monster in NYC who was portrayed by Cam’ron in the 2002 movie “Paid In Full” was killed in a drive-by shooting while he sat in his 2017 Dodge Ram at 147th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard around 3:30 a.m., cops said. He was shot five times.. Earlier today, in the morning, it was reported that a 55-year old man was shot in Harlem. Many sources claim this man was Alpo Marteniez.
Martinez became known after he was charged with 14 counts of murder.
Martinez was in jail for a 35-year sentence, which he was released from in 2015. Martinez was still drug dealing in many states and cities.
Many people from Harlem considered Martinez to be a snitch and say he betrayed people in order to keep himself safe.
Considering how dangerous Martinez played his cards, it is no surprise for him to be the victim of this murder case.
The murder was said to be a drive by shooting. Martinez was allegedly shot 5 times while driving his black 2017 Dodge Ram.
One article by New York Daily News said the following,
“A 55-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting on a Harlem street corner early Sunday.
The victim was struck multiple times in the chest in a hail of bullets fired from a passing vehicle on W. 147th St. near Frederick Douglass Blvd. just after 3:20 a.m., cops said.
EMS rushed him to Harlem Hospital but he couldn’t be saved. His name was not immediately released.”
After New York Police had put news about this situation out to the public, people automatically assumed the 55-year old was Alpo Martinez.
A high-ranking police source said Martinez was in danger as soon as he returned to his old stomping ground. “You were in the witness protection program because you testified against other drug dealers,” the source said.
“You’d make a lot of enemies who have a score to settle,” the source said. “When you return to the same area, word will get out very fast. He’s back in the zone.”
All in all, Martinez did have a very eventful life. Though it’s not the life others hope to live, he did what would bring in his income. Martinez earned somewhere from 1-5 million in the year 2020. Whether love, hated, or feared him Alpo will forever be one the most polar figures in Hip Hop.
