Written by: Khalif Thompson

Today in Hip Hop News, shockingly, we deliver the news that the Christmas song we’ve all grown to know to be originated by Mariah Carey may not be the case after all.

Reports have been released that Carey is currently facing a $20M copyright infringement lawsuit for her song “All I Want For Christmas Is You”.

Every Christmas, Mariah Carey's 1994 single "All I Want for Christmas is You" soars to the top of the charts. Carey is named in a copyright infringement case today, almost half a year before the single's yearly climb up the Hot 100.

According to sources at Yahoo, the case was filed in New Orleans on Friday by singer Andy Stone, who plays as Vince Vance as a member of Vince Vance & The Valiants.

Carey, according to Stone, has committed copyright infringement and misappropriation. Along with Carey, co-writer Walter Afanasieff and Sony Music Entertainment have been named.

According to the complaint, Carey's track took advantage of Stone's "style" and "popularity," which he claims enjoyed huge success during the 1993 holiday season.
