Written by: Khalif Thompson

Today in Hip Hop News, we report on the tragic last words of former rapper Nipsey Hussle who sadly passed after being shot and killed at 3:18 p.m. on March 31, 2019.

Hussle was shot at least ten times in the South Los Angeles parking lot of his store, Marathon Clothing.

He had many gunshot wounds, including one to his right chest, one to the right side of his back that entered his chest and injured a lung, one to "the posterior top" of his scalp, and another that cut his spinal cord at his navel.

Shermi Villanueva, a 47-year-old who was also hurt in the parking lot of The Marathon Store, was one of the first witnesses in the ongoing Nipsey Hussle murder trial.

The last utterances of Nipsey Hussle were revealed during Villanueva's testimony.

“’He shot me. He shot me,’” Villanueva said he heard Hussle say. “I heard it, and then I saw Nipsey fall. When I looked and see Nipsey, I started to run.”

According to the prosecution, Hussle's killer, Eric Holder, used two firearms in the killing and was once thought of as a friend of the rapper.

Holder began shooting at Hussle after leaving for lunch. The murder was not premeditated, according to Holder's counsel.

Holder is accused of one murder, two attempted murders, and one count of felon in possession of a firearm.
