As the news continues to shock the world, today in Hip Hop News we regrettably report that the Bogalusa Police Department verified that rapper JayDaYoungan, born Javorius Tykies Scott, died as a result of injuries received in his hometown after being shot.
According to reports, the 24-year-old was shot and killed while traveling with his father in his hometown on Wednesday evening.
Another victim was identified as a close family member, Kenyatta Scott Sr., who was gravely injured but stable, according to authorities.
Following the tragedy, the popular Louisiana musician renowned for "23 Island" has received an outpouring of sympathy online.

Bogalusa Mayor Wendy O'Quin-Perrette issued a statement saying the shooting was terrible and that her thoughts and prayers were with the victims.
