According to our sources, the controversial television host is now suing Wells Fargo over claims made by a former staffer who was outraged that media icon Wendy Williams refused her access to "Wendy's financial affairs."
The suit claims that the banking giant withheld access to her "financial assets for weeks without providing her or her counsel with an adequate explanation or evidence to support its decision."
Wells Fargo is also accused of failing to uphold her authorization, prompting Williams to file a restraining order against the bank.
Williams also asked the court to "reopen any frozen accounts or assets" and give him "access to any and all accompanying statements."
Williams also requested that the bank be blocked from "freezing any and all assets containing funds that were removed and/or withheld."
Wells Fargo responded by denying Williams’ allegations, saying in a statement, “We deny any allegations of improper actions with respect to Ms. Williams’ accounts and are fully participating in a court process to reach a resolution that is in her best interest. The financial well-being of our clients is at the heart of everything we do.”
