Today in Hip Hop News, American rapper and singer, Wiz Khalifa, calls for an end to violence and disrespect in Hip Hop in light of the recent murders that occurred in the music industry.
Over the weekend, Khalifa wrote on Twitter to offer guidance to fellow rappers on entering the new year of 2022. According to Wiz, entertainers need to be more wise and be there for one another.
Wiz tweets “As entertainers, lets try some shit next year. Minding our own business. Not disrespecting each other's family, dead homies, or the area they come from. Stop using someone else’s significant other as a one up to the other person. Actually showing the same love you expect to get.”
The timing of this info is without a doubt related to the many deaths in the hip hop industry as og late.
Wiz’s sentimentality particularly comes from the recent events of Drakeo The Ruler’s death, who reportedly was stabbed over the weekend at the Once Upon A Time in L.A Festival and later died. A week before that, YG affiliate Slim 400 was shot and killed in LA and last month, Young Dolph saw his life end when he was shot and killed in his hometown, Memphis, Tennessee.
All in all, Wiz’s advice is one of many that should be taken notice of and considered as we move forward to prevent losing more talented artists in the year to come.
