Today in Hip Hop News, Yung Joc delivers his honest take on the recent deaths of PNB Rock, Takeoff, etc who he explains are examples of rappers that could’ve taken better safety measures following their tragic passings.
Rappers, in Yung Joc's opinion, require protection today more than ever. He further explains he believes that rappers are targets for the public.
To ensure their safety, nevertheless, they require qualified assistance.
In an interview with Vlad TV, Yung Joc discussed his thoughts on the killings of Takeoff and PNB Rock.
Although several others pointed out many problems, he thinks that the reason for all of their deaths was a lack of prudence.
Young Joc hits on a very important point which is that “Once you reach a certain level of stardom, of success, of fame, we expect you to be untouchable and less accessible,” Yung Joc said.
“So if something happens to a ‘person of status,’ you blown away by the action itself. Like, ‘how did anybody get to you? Where were you?'”
Joc then said that many of these situations occur "right at home, in the hood."
For instance, Dolph was murdered at a cookie shop he frequently visited in his hometown.
In Charlotte and Los Angeles, he was fired at, but he managed to escape death each time.
“Then, sadly, the moment of his demise, he’s right in the hood. Right in his own hometown,” he explained.
